Description
Introducing InfraClay LiteRoll 5000®: Compact GCL with HDPE Liner for Easier Waterproofing
InfraClay LiteRoll 5000® is a heavy-duty geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) supplied in a compact, smaller and lighter roll format than standard GCL rolls. It combines high-grade sodium bentonite with dual geotextile layers and a bonded HDPE poly liner backing. Designed for below-grade waterproofing, it provides a reliable low-permeability barrier together with vapour control for demanding Australian construction and civil applications.
Smaller and Lighter Rolls for Easier Site Handling
The key advantage of InfraClay LiteRoll 5000® is its compact roll format. Compared with traditional full-size GCL rolls, it is easier to transport, manoeuvre, position, and install on site. This makes it especially practical for tight-access construction zones, basement detailing, under-slab works, retaining structures, and other projects where easier handling and installation efficiency are important.
Advanced GCL Protection with an HDPE Liner Backing
InfraClay LiteRoll 5000® combines the self-sealing behaviour of sodium bentonite with the added protection of a bonded HDPE liner. On hydration, the needle-punched composite swells to form a low-permeability barrier, while the HDPE backing enhances waterproofing performance and contributes an extra layer of vapour control. This dual-system design makes InfraClay LiteRoll 5000® a dependable solution for below-grade applications in demanding Australian conditions.
Engineered for Demanding Australian Conditions
Manufactured for civil and structural applications, InfraClay LiteRoll 5000® offers a GCL total mass of at least 5000 g/m², tensile strength of at least 11 kN/m in both machine and transverse directions, and a hydraulic conductivity of no more than 1 × 10-12 m/s. It also provides peel adhesion to concrete and strong internal shear strength, making it suitable for projects where durable waterproofing, vapour control, and consistent barrier performance are essential.
Flexible Installation for Detailed Waterproofing Areas
InfraClay LiteRoll 5000® is available in compact dimensions of 1.65 x 7.5 m or 1.10 x 5.0 m, helping simplify installation in smaller or more detailed waterproofing zones. Where required, steel pipe can be used to prevent roll buckling, and roll length can also be adjusted to suit project requirements. For sealing overlaps at roll ends, an application of 0.8 kg of sodium bentonite granules per square metre is recommended to help maintain liner continuity.
Typical Applications for InfraClay LiteRoll 5000®
- Basements: Provides reliable below-grade waterproofing and vapour control for basement structures.
- Under-Slab Waterproofing: Suitable for detailed under-slab applications where compact rolls simplify installation.
- Retaining Structures: Helps protect buried walls and structural elements from moisture ingress.
- Ponds: Provides a low-permeability lining solution for selected water containment applications.
- Dam Liners and Landfill Capping: Suitable for applications requiring robust bentonite and HDPE barrier performance.
